Policar F1 Rules – 2025 v1
Eligible cars.
Any 1970’s Policar F1 car. (ie. Cars raced prior to 1980)
Rules
1. No unpainted bodies (for cars built from kits).
2. No lightweight interiors.
3. All chassis’ must be standard. Mounting screws (body or motor pod) may be loosened.
4. No magnets may be fitted.
5. Motor pods : standard as supplied/manufactured by Policar.
6. Motor must be the standard DFV-25K motor as fitted to prebuilt models.
7. Gear ratios:- must ONLY be the standard ratio as per the ‘ready to run’ models of :-
9z pinion, 25z/16z intermediate drive shaft, and 17z rear axle final drive ratio.
NOT permitted – the fitting of either the 16z or 18z rear axle final drive.
8. Only original solid axles front and rear are permitted.
9. Front axle ride height and movement may be adjusted by the use of grub screws.
10. Front Wheels – Policar plastic F1 70’s front wheels 13.8×7.9 (PW13807921P) only.
Spacers are allowed on front axle to prevent wheels rubbing against
suspension detail.
11. Front tyres:- original fit Policar front tyres, as supplied by Slot.It (SIPT1088C1)
Minimum diameter when fitted to the hub 16mm .
These may not be sanded down/trimmed in any way, or coated
with varnish, super-glue, or any other coating.
12. Rear Wheels – Policar plastic F1 70’s rear wheels 16×11.7 (PW16011724P) OR..
Policar Aluminium rear wheels 16×11.7 (PW16011724a).
NOTE– The smaller diameter + wider wheels fitted to the later 70`s F1 models are not permitted, and they must be replaced. See also 14 below.
13. Rear tyres :- Policar ‘F22’ F1 70’s (PPT1219F22) is the only permitted choice of tyre.
Minimum tyre diameter when fitted to the hub 18.5mm.
14. Front and rear wheels must have inserts.
NOTE:- The use of any front and/or rear F1 tyre (other than those specified above)
from any manufacturer is not permitted.
15. Maximum axle width :- Outer edge of rim or tyre to the opposing outer rim/tyre edge..
Front – 56mm, (exception is BRM P180 – 57mm) Rear – 63mm.
16. Minimum ride height – Front 0.5mm, Rear, 1mm under the motor.
17. Guide must be Policar, braids are free choice.
18. Weight may be added but must not be visible.
19.Anything not covered by these Rules is not permitted. (Check with the Scrutineer.)
