ESC – Group 5 rules – 2024 v1
ELIGIBLE CARS:-
Any Sideways Group 5 Car: BMW M1, BMW 320, Ferrari 512 BB, Ford Escort, Ford Capri, Ford Mustang, Lancia Beta Monte Carlo, Lancia Stratos, Nissan Skyline Turbo, Porsche 935, Toyota Celica.
Any Scaleauto Group 5 Car: BMW M1, Porsche 935.
RULES
1. No unpainted bodies (for cars built from kits) No magnets may be fitted.
2. No light weight interiors, unless manufactuered with as standard (Scaleauto).
3. Original unmodified chassis and body must be used. Spoiler, see 18 below).
4. No magnets may be fitted.
5. Motor mount: Maximum offset 0.5mm. The original motor mount may be changed to the grey Slot.It 0.5mm offset anglewinder motor mount. Mounting to chassis:- 3 or 4 point mounting to chassis ONLY, no 6 point. This is to ‘standardise’ as earlier chassis’ had 3 or 4 point mounting. No suspension.
6. Motor must be Slot.it SIMN09CH ‘yellow’ Flat 6, fitted as standard to Racer Sideways cars.
7. Gearing must be standard Slot.It 11/28.
8. Only the original solid metal axles are permitted.
9. Front wheels must be standard, however, Scaleauto cars may run any 15.8×8 or 16.5×8 Slot.It plastic wheels.
10. Front tyres are free, but must be normal rubber, no coating of any sort.
11.Rear wheels must be alloy. Minimum 16.5mm, maximum 17.3mm. All may run Slot.it (non magnesium), or Slotting Plus Universal wheels.
No other lightweight (magnesium) or air hub wheels.
12. Rear tyres are free. (Preferably Scaleauto or NSR red tyres).. No silicon tyres or NSR red tyres.
13. Front and rear wheels must have inserts (where possible).
14. Minimum ride height – Front 0.5mm, rear 1mm, measured under the motor.
15. Guide is free.
16. Braid choice is free.
17. Weight may be added.
18. Rear spoiler; if fitted; should where possible be present at Scrutineering. If fitted it may be removed before racing to avoid damage.
19. Anything not mentioned in the rules is not allowed. (Check with Scrutineer)
